Andruw Jones’s (bio) latest post was a few months after he signed the ridiculously large contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Los Angeles Dodgers played the San Diego Padres for two spring training games in China.  The post is about Andruw’s thoughts on baseball in China.

It was fun, but it’s over now. Time to really get ready for the season. We got in our two games, got the chance to see a country I never thought I would ever see. We didn’t have a lot of time, but it’s something I’ll never forget. I didn’t do as much as a lot of other guys. Last night, I didn’t leave the hotel. I went to the lobby and bought a drink for everybody and shut it down. I don’t miss on getting my sleep. I was out of the hotel at 7:30 this morning, got to the clubhouse early and started stretching. I think this trip will be good for baseball in China. The fans, they still don’t know the game. They cheer on foul balls and stuff, but I think if they can get a Chinese player in the Major Leagues, that will really make a difference here. It would be an explosion, if they ever got somebody like an Ichiro or a Matsui. But this was good for them to see a Major League game, even a Spring Training game. Next time, maybe they’ll bring the “A” team. I’d come back for sure.
